INFLUENCE OF ETHNICITY ON PASSENGER STANDARD WEIGHT

C. Bil, RMIT University, Australia; G. Hanlon, Five Rings Aerospace, Australia

Airlines calculate the payload of their aircraft using the standard passenger and cabin language weight data provided by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) as Civil Aviation Advisory Publication (CAAP) 235. This is used to ensure that the maximum take-off weight and the maximum landing weight of the particular aircraft does not exceed its safety limits. The current standard passenger and cabin baggage weight data for Australia (CAAP 235) is 25 years old. This study aims to determine of these values are still applicable or should be changed based on passenger surveys.
