The characteristics and mechanism of heat flux distribution on isolator wall are analyzed numerically. The variation of heat flux shows some similar trends under different pressure ratios and can be divided into 3 phases. The location of oblique shock wave matches well with the location of sharply reduced heat flux in phase II, which is mainly due to the decrease of air temperature and velocity.
