GAZE-BASED INTERFACE FOR FLIGHT CONTROL: RESULTS OF INITIAL EXPERIMENTS WITH THE SYSTEM

Aviation has seen immense progress, yet current pilot interfaces have barely changed since the first heavier-than-air aircrafts. Using body gesture and eye gaze direction as manned aircraft control input methods became possible with curent technology, such a system presents the possibility to reduce pilot workload or that a person with less training time be able to issue commands to an aircraft.
