UNCERTAINTY QUANTIFICATION OF AIRFOIL DESIGN FOR ADVANCED PROPELLER MODELS

H.D. Schwartz¹, D.N. Mavris¹; ¹Georgia Institute of Technology, United States

Environmental concerns have once again caused engineers to look at propeller engine concepts due to their efficiency. This research will improve counter rotating advanced propeller models by capturing the changes in the velocity field due to the engine forebody. The approach will test low order methods to determine which one captures the velocity profile with the smallest amount of uncertainty.
