The Lattice Boltzmann Method is coupled with a transient explicit dynamic solver to resolve aerodynamic and structural components of bat flight for the first time. Bat flight is extremely complex from a kinematic and structural standpoint, coupling rigid body kinematics with a deformable membrane to sustain lift and thrust.
