DEVELOPMENT OF LIGHTWEIGHT AND RELIABLE JOINTS FOR AIRFRAMES BASED ON UNIDIRECTIONAL COMPOSITE ELEMENTS

Creation of reliable and lightweight joints is one of the most critical task for the composite primary aircraft structure. For novel primary composite structures based on unidirectional (UD) composite elements, lightweight and reliable joints can be created due to topological and design features. Investigation results and analysis of efficiency of such kind of joining are presented in this paper.
