OPTIMIZATION OF COMPOSITE PATCH REPAIR FOR INCLINED CRACK ON ALUMINUM PLATE USING GENETIC ALGORITHM

What is important in this study is that the tensile test is simulated up to the total disintegration of the aluminum plate. The crack growth process is modeled with the XFEM and the CZM is used to model any damage progression in the adhesive of the composite patch repair. Since the number of non-linear parameters of the problem in hand is high, the assembly is simulated as full scale model.
