In this article theoretical, numerical and experimental investigations are carried out to study the nonlinear behaviour of HALE wings with external stores when geometrical and aerodynamic nonlinearities are not negligible. Different cantilever beam configurations are analysed to understand their dynamic properties due to the tip deflection and comparisons with a linear eigenvalue analysis. The effect of the position of the pods is studied. Numerical analysis are performed considering several pods combination, up to 3, in different positions in spanwise direction and changing the store(s) centre of gravity from the elastic axis of the wing. Structural dynamics tests are performed for a wing with and without the presence of external stores.
