ACOUSTICAL COMPARISON OF CONVENTIONAL TAXIING AND DISPATCH TOWING - TAXIBOT´S CONTRIBUTION TO GROUND NOISE ABATEMENT

Dispatch towing technologies (e.g. TaxiBot) potentially contribute to a reduction in fuel consumption and ground noise during taxi-out processes. To quantify noise emissions, a new measurement method was developed and applied for the comparison of conventional taxiing with innovative dispatch towing procedures and technologies. Initial results show a substantial effect of dispatch towing on ground noise reduction.
