EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF LATERAL PULSE JET INTERACTION FLOWFIELD IN HYPERSONIC FLOW

An experimental method was successfully developed to study characteristics of unsteady flowfields induced by a pulse jet in hypersonic flow. The process during startup and shutoff interval was visualized and measured by the high-speed schlieren and fluctuating pressure techniques. Numerical and experimental results agreed well. The investigation is important to further study unsteady jet interaction.
