AEROTHERMODYNAMICS CHARACTERISTICS OF A SPACE PROBE IN THE MARTIAN ATMOSPHERE

I.V. Egorov¹, N.V. Palchekovskaya¹, M.A. Pugach¹; ¹TsAGI, Russia

Aerodynamic characteristics and aerodynamic heating of a space probe during it motion in the Martian atmosphere are determined by the Navier-Stokes equations equations with nonequilibrium chemical reaction. Comparison of numerical results for flow over space probe model and experimental results, obtained in wind tunnel T-117 of TsAGI, is carried out for accuracy evaluation and validation.
