EXTRACTION OF LINEAR INFLOW MODEL FOR MANEUVERING HELICOPTER FROM FREE-WAKE ANALYSIS

Linear inflow models are an essential tool for helicopter simulations tasks of both full-scale and UAV configurations. The main objective of this paper is to describe a methodology to extract simple and computationally efficient state space-models of the rotor’s inflow dynamics from free-wake aerodynamic model for both hover and forward flight including maneuvering in both flight regimes.
