NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF AEROTHERMODYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF FLOW OVER SPACE VEHICLE MODEL

Numerical simulation of flow over Martian space probe at wind tunnel conditions is carried out. It shows nonmonotonic behaviour of pressure coefficient. This is specified by the surface curvature discontinuity at the point of spherical and conical parts conjugation. Positive pressure gradients take place near this point that can lead to boundary layer separation.
