NUMERICAL STUDY ON TRANSONIC BUFFET ACTIVE CONTROL BY OPEN AND CLOSED-LOOP STRATEGIES

Two active control methods (open loop and closed loop) are proposed to decrease or suppress the transonic buffet by trailing edge flap based on Unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes equations. The buffet loads can be reduced by 60% with the open loop method, and the buffet in a wider range of Mach numbers can be suppressed completely with the closed loop method.
