OVERVIEW OF THE INVERTED JOINED WING SCALED DEMONSTRATOR PROGRAMME

The inverted joined wing configuration, with the upper wing positioned in front of the lower one, was envisaged to increase the efficiency of the airplane. This paper summarizes the project dedicated to investigating its characteristics. Multidisciplinary optimization, performance, stability, control analyses, wind tunnel tests and UAV flight tests were performed.
