This research is about mutual use of topology and shape/sizing optimization methods to create an efficient procedure for design of aircraft load-bearing structures. The problem is formulated as multidisciplinary aero-structural optimization where aerodynamics, aeroelasticity and strength requirements are under consideration. Results for different aircraft wing configurations are presented.
