SURROGATE MODELING TECHNIQUE FOR THE CONCEPTUAL AND PRELIMINARY DESIGN OF EMBEDDED ACTUATION SYSTEMS AND COMPONENTS

F. Sanchez, Institut Clément Ader/Paul Sabatier University, France; S. Delbecq, Institut Clément Ader/Safran Electronics & Defense, France

The paper proposes a method for the construction of specifically algebraic models for preliminary design needs. The central idea is to combine dimensional analysis, design of experiments and finite element simulations to get simple and robust surrogate models. The method is illustrated for a direct drive electromechanical actuator sizing.
