ON MORE EFFECTIVE AERODYNAMIC DATA GENERATION FOR SIMULATION BASED AIRCRAFT CONCEPTUAL DESIGN

The proposed TiCTaC (Tightly Coupled Test and Computations) system will pay handsome dividends for simulation based aircraft conceptual design efforts by facilitating timely and cost-effective generation of quality aerodynamic data. It combines computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for guiding wind-tunnel tests with additive manufacturing for fast and inexpensive model building for rapid turnaround.
