INFLUENCE OF POWER UNIT CONFIGURATION LAYOUT OF A REGIONAL JET ON PERFORMANCE AND DIRECT OPERATING COST

The potential benefits associated with use of innovative configuration of regional passenger aircraft, equipped with one cruising engine and one auxiliary will be assessed. The auxiliary engine, located inside the fuselage and used only in emergency situations and in flight near the ground, remains off during high altitude flight in order to reduce fuel consumption.
