PREDICTION OF FRACTURE STRENGTH FOR NOTCHED LAMINATE SUBJECTED TO COMPRESSION LOADING

M. Lee, Agency for Defense Development, South Korea; J. Kim, Chungnam National University, South Korea

Results are presented for the fracture strengths of several Gr/Ep(G40-800/5276-1) laminates containing circular hole including both countersunk effect and hole edge distance effect.rnThe average stress failure criterion and the point stress failure criterion are successfully used to predict the observed strengths in all cases considered.rn
