THE EFFECTS OF BODY AERODYNAMICS ON THE DYNAMIC STABILITY OF INSECT FLIGHT

A.-T. Nguyenı, J.-K. Kimı, J.-H. Hanı; ıKorea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, South Korea

The paper studies the effects of body aerodynamics on the dynamic stability of a six-degree-of-freedom insect model. Panel code is integrated into a multi-flexible body solver to handle interaction between the aerodynamics and dynamics of the insect model with the flexible wings. The body aerodynamics effects are investigated in hovering and forward flight.
