AEROPROPULSIVE PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF THE NOVA CONFIGURATIONS

The search for reduced fuel consumption of future transport aircraft involves an improvement of the propulsive efficiency. In this paper, the potential of boundary-layer ingestion (BLI) is investigated on the ONERA NOVA aircraft configurations. A novel exergy-based approach is used to supplant the classic thrust-drag bookkeeping methodology relying on force breakdown, deficient in a BLI case.
