WIND TUNNEL FREE-FLIGHT TEST FOR FLIGHT DYNAMICS AND CONTROL SYSTEM EXPERIMENTS

The wind tunnel free-flight test infrastructure has been successfully developed for flight dynamics and control system experiments in a large scale low speed wind tunnel. The free-flight test results show reasonable agreement with flight simulation and full-scale flight test in both qualitative and quantitative assessment. It has become a powerful tool in doing research on aerodynamics/dynamics/control characteristics of new-concept configuration flight vehicles or testing of advanced flight control algorithms or technologies, with great advantage in reduce risk, cost-effective, and change of test condition conveniently.
