DISTRIBUTED PROPELLERS SLIPSTREAM EFFECTS ON WING AT LOW REYNOLDS NUMBER

K. Wang¹, X.P. Zhu¹, Z. Zhou¹; ¹NWPU University, China

Based on the basic researches of the solar-powered UAVs, a numerical study of the distributed propellers effects on wing at low Reynolds number is conducted. The results show that the distributed propellers can be effectively used for both propulsive thrust and low-speed lift augmentation, which is primarily due to the increase of velocity over the wing and the change of boundary layer behavior.
