UNCONVENTIONAL CONFIGURATIONS - DESIGN AND OPTIMIZATION

T. Goetzendorf-Grabowski¹, J. Mieloszyk¹; ¹Warsaw University of Technology, Poland

Unconventional configurations can be very promising, but they need to be analysed taking into account stability characteristics already in the preliminary stage of design. Paper presents a new approach to consider the flying qualities in the multidisciplinary optimization process. Examples of some unconventional configurations (canard, joined wing, three surface, flying wing) are presented.
