SUPERSONIC BUSINESS JET TECHNOLOGY AND MISSION TRADE STUDIES

L. Gonzalez, EMBRY RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY, United States

Trade studies regarding the L/D, sfc and empty weight fraction for a notional supersonic business jet are presented. An aircraft is sized to be used in mission trades, ie, effect of range, Mach number, rate of climb and specific excess power for the transonic acceleration.rnThe results are discussed in the context of needs for low sonic boom and closure for a business case.
