A methodology is proposed for predicting progressive failure in a hybrid jet engine forward section. Damage/failure behaviors are captured within engine components such as the composite casing and hybrid fan blades, and inter-ply delamination and debonding are assessed. Ply damage is also predicted using a coupled micromechanics/FE approach.
