Flight trajectory optimization is accomplished through wind and generalized aircraft performance models contributing to an efficient Air Transportation System based on a ‘Free Flight’ operational concept. GPS tracked flight data and dynamic programming are used in trajectory evaluation and optimization process respectively, followed by an analysis on gained benefits.
