This paper investigates how geometric variation affects the performance of rear turbine structures. Variation data from 3D scanning of parts are fed into a multidisciplinary simulation platform involving CFD and FE analyses. Results showed significant variation in performance. The conclusion is that geometrical variation cannot be neglected in early phases.
