ICM, a new crack monitoring method based mainly on the crack-detected intelligent coating has been suggested, which has the capability to monitor crack initiation and growth in fatigue test coupons. Potential application prospect and its great significance of ICM have been discussed on aging aircraft and full scale fatigue test.
