Keywords: flow control, transition and turbulence, wind tunnel and flight testing

PIV, smoke-wire, tuft and oil-flow visualization were used for wind-tunnel investigation, merged with in-flight testing and CFD analysis. Boundary layer separation - stall and separation bubbles was studied on airfoils and wing-fuselage geometry. Separation suppression by flow control was reached and drag coefficient reduction of test sailplanes measured in flight.
