We investigate the flow interaction between fore- and hindwings of a dragonfly in hovering and forward flight. Measurements of unsteady aerodynamic forces and flow visualization are conducted using a dynamically scaled mechanical model in a water tunnel. The flow interaction is related to the phase difference between fore- and hindwings.
