Study investigates the effect of plunge models on aerodynamic characteristics of a flapping airfoils. The Navier-Stokes equations are solve using finite volume method by means of the dynamic mesh technique. The Numerical results show the forces and propulsive efficiency significantly affected by the ratio between up and down plunge duration.
