Engineering data transfer using neutral Boundary Representation geometric models can result in loss of information. Automatic recognition of engineering features in neutral models improves the transition between engineering processes. Methods are presented for extracting engineering features from geometric models and an Automated Feature Recognition (AFR) system that automates this process.
