P.D. Ciampa, T. Zill, B. Nagel
DLR, Germany

Keywords: cst, unconventional aircraft design, blended wing body

The Class-Shape function Transformation (CST) method is applied as core of the geometry parametrization for the preliminary design of a BWB in a MDO framework. The BWB-model is coupled with DLR in-house aerodynamics and structural tools. The configuration is optimized with the CST parameters as design variables.
