Keywords: vertical take-off and landing (vtol), tail-sitter aircraft, unmanned aircraft, wind tunnel tests, flight tests

The authors proposed a new design for a tail-sitter mini UAV. Analyses based on a mathematical model led to that leading edge slats can improve flight performance at high AoA transitional flight. In order to demonstrate the effect of slats experimentally, wind tunnel testing and flight testing were carried out.
