SHOCK DETECTION AND LIMITING WITH DISCONTINUOUS GALERKIN METHODS FOR EULER EQUATIONS ON UNSTRUCTURED MESH

A discontinuous detector and a limiter are applied to suppress the spurious oscillations when solving Euler equations by discontinuous Galerkin methods. The detector is based on the shock physical characters. The limiter is applied in the detected regions. Two transonic flows are simulated to illustrate the performance of the approach.
