Known as the Magnus effect, lift is generated on a cylinder rotating in a transverse flow. The addition of endplates and spanwise discs may improve considerably the configuration performance and could constitute a technical solution for UAVs. The aerodynamic potential of this solution is evaluated with state-of-the-art CFD methods
