Boeing and partners successfully demonstrated several airplane noise reduction features during a nearly month long test program using a Boeing 777-300ER flying test bed. Validated technologies such as the joint-less acoustic treatment in the inlet and chevron nozzles are making Boeing’s newer airplanes significantly quieter for both passengers and the airport community. Detailed technical aspects of the test program and results are presented in this paper.
