Experimental studies have identified deployed slats as prominent noise contributors. To integrate noise issues into the aerodynamic design cheap numerical prediction tools for airframe noise problems are essential. Slat noise problems are studied using a cheap computational approach based on APE and stochastic sound sources based on steady RANS simulations.
