The well-known Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) meta-heuristic is applied to optimize the external configuration of an unguided projectile. The normal force coefficient is chosen as the objective function. The optimization results are compared with those of a Genetic Algorithm (GA). The comparisons show superior results for ACO than GA.
