AEROELASTIC SIMULATION OF S-DUCT DYNAMICS USING STRUCTURE-COUPLED CFD

Results are presented for computational aeroelastic simulation of a low-observable, S-duct air intake channel, obtained using the, FOI-developed, CFD flow-solver, "Edge" and FE structural analysis code, "Stripe". It is demonstrated that the internal flow can become dynamically coupled to the structural resulting in a limit cycle oscillation (LCO).
