The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has been conducting an aircraft operations concept for small aircraft, named NOCTARN, based on adaptable four-dimensional flight trajectories shared between aircraft and air traffic control. A flight demonstration involving multiple aircraft has accomplished in 2005.
