After the mishap of the Helios in 2003 we started to develop a model, which describes more adequate the behavior of flexible aerodynamic structures and saves computational resources compared to a CFD-FEM model. The multi-body model supplied useful information about the stability and in-flight deformation of a Helios-like flying wing.
