Keywords: Linux-cluster, Parallel performance, CFD, Cluster configuration

CFD is an important tool in aircraft design. To achieve short turn-around-time for flow solutions parallel computers are used where especially PC-clusters have gained popularity. Hardware and software factors influencing the CFD-code performance on large PC-clusters are investigated with the goal of improving total performance and cost-efficiency for large CFD-simulations.
