This paper presents a design of the fiber-optical network based on 1394b to meet the requirements for a high-bandwidth network in avionics. The GOF and POF transmissions were successfully demonstrated with BER. It concludes that the photonic networks can provide future avionics systems with high performance and low cost interconnections.
