Keywords: Reduced stability, actuator activity, saturation, fatigue

This article describes the influence of the elevator actuator on the aircraft longitudinal stability and controllability. The reduced stability is caused by an aft position of the centre of gravity. New criteria due to control surface actuators in the context of aircraft relying on active stabilisation are presented.
