The new turboprop trainer PC-21 was designed from the start to obtain desirable spin characteristics. This was achieved thanks to rotary and oscillatory balance wind tunnel tests, flight simulation, and by comparing simulation results of a "proof-of-concept" configuration with flight tests of a prototype based on an existing design.
