This paper introduces a new second-order multi-point additive scaling function and presents a SQP based variable fidelity optimization framework carried out on airfoil optimization designs. With higher design quality and less expense, the framework is suitable for the improvement design of an baseline airfoil to meet specified engineering requirements.
