An efficient and accurate method for predicting the aeroacoustic noise generated by transonic helicopter rotors was investigated. The near-field noise was calculated by solving Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes equations using chimera grid methodology. The far-field noise was predicted by using Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings method, with integration surface covering the nonlinear flow region.
